MEMOIR WRITING WORKSHOPS

When I sat down to write The Wrong End of the Table, I felt exhilarated but also terrified. The word memoir can sound self-aggrandizing, daunting, or cringe-inducing. And don't get me started on the "correct" pronunciation.

Here's the thing, though: the world needs genuine stories more than ever, and your story is distinctly yours. Writing mine was one of the most fulfilling experiences I've had, and now I want to help you craft yours. I’m working the spring and summer schedule now!

CHECK BACK FOR FUTURE OPENINGS!

In this interactive intro workshop, we’ll dig into the real stuff—your life, your memories, your voice—to uncover the themes that naturally shape the stories you tell. I’ll share the tools that helped me while writing my memoir—practical, repeatable stuff I still use in all kinds of writing. We’ll do short exercises together, and I’ll offer feedback along the way to help you sharpen your ideas and get to the heart of your story.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a clearer sense of your story—or at least a strong jumping-off point to begin writing. And if memoir isn’t your goal, that’s okay. I believe the most powerful stories come from your lived, authentic experiences. Let’s uncover them—together.

UNCOVER YOUR AUTHENTIC “WHY”

I'm a writer skilled in film and TV scripts as well as podcasts and essays. My primary focus is on projects with an eye toward representation, inclusion, and shedding a light on underrepresented communities. Over the years, I've found a passion for helping new writers find their voices. As an instructor, I can help you uncover your own authentic “why” so that you tell the story truest to you. Everything is a story. And everyone has at least one story to tell, that is exclusively authentic to them. Learn more 👇🏽
